What is AI SEO (or GEO) and how is it different from normal SEO? +
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimisation — the discipline of being selected as a source by LLMs when they answer user questions. Traditional SEO aims at Google's ten blue links. GEO aims at ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Bing Copilot and Claude. The two overlap heavily on technical fundamentals but diverge on content structure: GEO rewards direct answers, clear attribution, and citations.
Can you actually rank on ChatGPT? +
You cannot "rank" on ChatGPT the same way you rank on Google. What you can do is structure your content and authority so that when ChatGPT, Perplexity or AI Overviews answer a question in your niche, they cite your site. That is a winnable game with the right fundamentals.
How long does AI SEO take to show results? +
Technical fixes land within days. LLM citations for new content typically start appearing within 4 to 8 weeks of publish. Sustained ranking shifts on Google take 3 to 6 months — the usual SEO timeline. Anyone promising faster is selling you something.
Do you sell backlinks or guest posts? +
