Why this studio exists
The UK software market has two problems that nobody seems in a hurry to fix. The first: big agencies quote six-figure budgets for projects that should cost a fraction of that, and most of the money ends up in account managers, slide decks and "discovery phases" before a single line of code is written. The second: the cheaper end of the market leans on offshore teams, junior developers and template-shop websites that break the moment you ask them to do something real.
SoftwareYeah is the deliberate middle option. Founder-led. Small on purpose. UK-based. Honest about what a project will cost and honest about what it will not. No army of analysts, no pitch decks, no lock-in retainers — just a studio that takes a problem, scopes it in writing, and ships software that works on the day we hand it over.
We are in our founding phase in 2026. That means we are selective about the projects we take on, we pour more care into each one than a large agency could afford to, and we treat every early client like the reference they will become.
What we value
These are not hung on the wall. They decide which projects we take on and how we run every engagement.
Honest scoping
Every project gets a written scope, a fixed-feeling quote, and a timeline we actually believe. If a timeline is wrong, we tell you before you sign — not four weeks in.
You own everything
Source code, data, domains, credentials — all handed over at launch. No "hosted with us" lock-in, no license fees on code you paid for, no playing gatekeeper if you ever want to leave.
Short cycles, weekly demos
No four-month silence between kick-off and launch. Every project has a weekly demo cadence so you see progress, catch misunderstandings early, and steer direction while it still costs nothing.
UK-first, British English
Everything we write and build is tuned for UK businesses — GDPR, PECR, VAT, ICO guidance, British English copy, London hours. No American templates, no translation layer.
No offshore, no juniors on the critical path
Your project is built by the people you met on the discovery call. Not handed to a pool of developers you never meet. If we cannot do the work ourselves we will tell you and recommend somebody who can.
Say no to bad-fit projects
If we cannot deliver real value — or if the project belongs somewhere else entirely — we say so on the first call. Every project we take on is one we believe we can ship well.
How a project actually runs
Every engagement follows the same four stages — discovery, scope, build, handover — regardless of whether we are building a website, a custom software platform, or a workflow automation.
-
STEP 01 — DISCOVERYA free 30-minute call. We talk about what you need, what you have already tried, what the real problem is under the stated one. If the project is not a fit we say so.
-
STEP 02 — WRITTEN SCOPEWithin two working days of the call, you receive a written scope: deliverables, timeline, assumptions, risks, and a tailored quote. You approve before anything starts — no retainers pre-signed, no "we will figure it out as we go".
-
STEP 03 — BUILDShort delivery cycles with weekly demos so you see real progress, not just invoices. You use the real system on real data as soon as possible — usually within two weeks.
-
STEP 04 — HANDOVER & 30-DAY WINDOWFull handover of source code, documentation, and training. Thirty days of free bugfixes and small tweaks after go-live. Optional ongoing support afterwards — never a lock-in contract.
